Who doesn’t love Bangkok? If you been to this wonderful city several times, there are always some new things to do here. Like for example, Bangkok is quite famous for shopping. And like any other Southeast Asian capitals… Malling is life here. But I admit, Bangkok malls are the best bunch in the region in terms of wideness of the brand selection, design, aesthetics, and maybe maintenance. Luxury malls are everywhere here… Siam Paragon… Emporeum… Emquartier…. but recently, Bangkok opened a much grander mall, the Icon Siam. I can say without exxageration that it is beyond compare to other malls mentioned previously. Anyway, what I’m trying to highlight here is that Bangkok is very dynamic and can really entice you to come back for more.
Also, Bangkok skyline totally changed with the opening of King Power MahaNakhon in 2016. In simple terms, King Power MahaNakhon is the pixelated building that’s recognizable from far away and because of its unique design, this has now become one of Bangkok’s most recognizable icons. Oh yeah, maybe something like what Marina Bay Sands is to Singapore.
In 2017, they opened one of the new attractions in Bangkok called the Skywalk. The SkyWalk is a glass tray floor situated on the 78th floor observation deck of MahaNakhon. The highest observation point in Bangkok.
The experience to Skywalk starts from a 50-minute digitally-enhanced elevator ride up to the 74th floor. This level is an enclosed observation floor that allows you enjoy the unobstructed 360-degree view of the city in aircoditioned comfort.
From the 74th floor, take another elevator ride to the upper deck to brave the glass tray floor on the 78th floor. The glass floor is situated 310 m above ground. Best time to go here around 4 PM and stay until the evening so you can enjoy a day view of Bangkok, the sunset, and of course, the night lights of the city come dusk.
You can grab a drink from The Peak bar few steps up, to 314 m, Bangkok’s highest viewpoint. Take a sit on its tiered seating, enjoy the music, and just mesmerize the enormity of this megalopolis. Drinks at the Peak starts at THB 180. The ticket to access both the indoor and rooftop observations starts from THB 800.
